James Schmid Appointed to Columbia Business School Real Estate Forum

James A. Schmid III, Chief Investment Officer and Managing Partner, has been appointed to the prestigious Columbia Business School Real Estate Forum — an exclusive group of global real estate leaders who shape the future of the industry through thought leadership, mentorship, and strategic dialogue.

As a member of this invitation-only consortium of real estate CEOs and senior executives, James will engage in discussion about emerging industry trends and provide insights that support academic programming at the Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate. A graduate of the Columbia Business School and Columbia University’s College of Arts and Sciences, his involvement will also include contributing to classroom activities, case production, and research initiatives.

Development Summit

Filled with open conversations and hands-on sessions, our development team recently dove into strategic platform initiatives, shared valuable lessons learned, and reflected on the challenges we’ve tackled over the past year together, during a multi-day educational summit in the vibrant city of Atlanta, Georgia. It was a great opportunity to re-align and grow as a team as we continue pursuing better healthcare through real estate solutions together.

To cap off the event, the team toured one of our newest outpatient facilities - Hurricane Shoals Professional Center II - and then headed to the ballpark to enjoy an exciting matchup between the Atlanta Braves and the Philadelphia Phillies.

Management Summit

Our team kicked off the Management Summit in Atlanta, Georgia with an afternoon at Piedmont Park, where team members reconnected over games and friendly competition. That evening, we came together for a group dinner featuring Georgia-inspired dishes and tested our Peach State knowledge with a spirited Georgia-themed Kahoot quiz — turns out, our team knows a thing or two about local trivia!

The next day, we spent time in open conversations, thoughtful sessions, and strategic presentations focused on lessons learned, and our continued pursuit of better healthcare through real estate solutions. To wrap up the summit, we took the friendly competition to the next level with darts and laughs.
